Our class had some visitors today from Hillcrest High School. The high school kids taught your kids some strategies for dealing with peer pressure. It was a high energy, fun, and useful lesson to hopefully help kids through some awkward or dangerous situations that they might encounter in the future (or even now). Students role played possible situations and practiced using the skills with peers.
Ask your child about their new "Refusal Skills".
1. Ask questions.
2. Name the Trouble
3. Identify the consequences.
4. Suggest an alternative.
5. Move it, sell it, and leave the door open.
They enjoyed "hanging out" with these great role models from Hillcrest High.
